Who has access to the MyUW portal?

Most UW System employees (full and part-time) have access to the MyUW portal.

How do I know if I am eligible to self enroll in benefits using the MyUW portal?

You will receive a notice from your institution benefits contact at hire informing you of your opportunity to self enroll in benefits using the MyUW portal.

If you have started making benefit elections in the MyUW portal, but have not submitted your elections, you will receive an email notice three days prior to your enrollment period ending reminding you to complete the enrollment process.

How much time do I have to enroll in benefits?

From your date of hire, or becoming benefits eligible, you have 30 days to enroll in most benefits. It is recommended that you complete your benefit enrollments in one session. Should your 30-day enrollment window pass, contact your institution benefits contact to discuss any options you may have for enrolling in specific benefit plans.

I need help making benefit choices. What resources are available?

Start by reviewing the UW System Employee Benefits website and the Benefits Summary for your employee category. Benefit Summaries can be accessed on the UW System Employee Benefits General Employee Information web page under Your Benefits Package.

I submitted my choices but made an error. What can I do?

If you need to add or cancel enrollment in a plan, enroll additional dependents (spouse or children), or change one of your elections, and you are still within your 30-day new hire enrollment window, contact with your institution benefits contact.

Will I receive a confirmation of my benefit elections?

Once you have submitted your benefits enrollments using the MyUW portal, you will receive an e-mail confirmation statement within 24-48 hours. If you do not receive an email confirmation statement, or the benefits do not accurately reflect your choices, contact your institution benefits contact immediately.

What if I don't have access to a computer at work?

If you do not have a computer at work, you can access the MyUW portal from computer kiosks located at your institution. Contact your institution benefits contact for information on the location of computer kiosks at your institution. If the kiosks are not easily accessible, you can use your home computer, smart phone, or public library computers. If you are unable to use a computer, paper documents and forms for all human resource, payroll, and benefits functions are available.

I want to enroll in the UW 403(b) Supplemental Retirement Program (SRP) and/or the Wisconsin Deferred Compensation Plan (WDC) 457 Program, but I don't see this as an option in the MyUW portal. How can I enroll in these plans?

To enroll in the SRP 403(b) Program and for additional information on the program, review the UW 403(b) Supplemental Retirement Program (SRP) web page. Once your account has been established with your preferred recordkeeper(s) and your payroll deduction(s) have been established, you will be able to make changes to your contribution election using the MyUW portal.

To enroll in the WDC 457 Program and make changes to your contribution elections, visit the WDC website or call (877) 457-9327.

UW Employees covered by the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) can view their WRS Annual Statement of Benefits in the MyUW portal. Log into the MyUW portal for UW System institutions or for UW-Madison. Launch the Benefit Information app and click on the WRS Statements of Benefits tab.
